Spiran Lodge brings people together in Rockport, Massachusetts, to celebrate Nordic heritage, culture, and friendship. Through traditional celebrations, community events, and social gatherings, we keep our traditions alive while creating new ones.

Our Mission
The mission of Spiran Lodge is to share and rediscover the traditions and heritage of people of Nordic ancestry, promote and sustain a broader understanding and appreciation of Nordic culture to both those of Nordic and non-Nordic ancestry, and promote the Vasa Order of America’s founding principles of GENEROSITY, TRUTH and UNITY.
Events
Join us throughout the year for traditional Nordic celebrations such as Swedish Pancake Breakfasts, Midsommar, Julfest, and other social and cultural gatherings. Our events bring people together to celebrate Nordic traditions and support the Spiran Lodge Scholarship Fund.
Membership
Spiran Lodge brings together people of Nordic heritage who share an interest in preserving traditions, celebrating their ancestry, and building lasting friendships. As part of the Vasa Order of America, we offer opportunities for cultural activities, community involvement, and fellowship.
Scholarships
Spiran Lodge supports education in our community through scholarships awarded annually to eligible Cape Ann students. Funded through lodge activities and community support, these scholarships reflect our commitment to future generations.

Join Us in Person!
Monthly Meetings
Join us at one of our monthly Lodge Meetings at Spiran Hall on the first Friday of most months. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm, or at 6:30 pm when a potluck dinner is scheduled. Activities meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second or third Wednesday of most months.
Swedish Pancake Breakfast
At Spiran Lodge’s pancake breakfast, guests have a great breakfast, enjoy the friendship of their neighbors, and pick up some delicious sweet treats at the Nordic bake table. Everyone is happy with their breakfast of Swedish pancakes, fruit cup, sausage, juice, and coffee.
Midsommar Fest
An ancient tradition, Midsommar celebrates the peak of summer with flower wreaths, songs, and maypole dances. Spiran Lodge hosts an annual Midsommar Festival in June, offering Nordic delights, music, and a festive atmosphere at Spiran Hall in Rockport.
Julfest
With aromatic cardamom bread, pickled herring, and Swedish sausage, Julfest is a feast of authentic delicacies. The event, filled with music, carols, and the St. Lucia procession, embodies the spirit of community and tradition, welcoming all to celebrate Scandinavian heritage.
Become a Member!
Membership to Spiran Lodge and the Vasa Order is open to individuals over 14 years of age with Nordic roots (Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian or Swedish) and their spouses who would like to rediscover the traditions of their forefathers or share their Nordic heritage, as well as individuals of non-Nordic ancestry who are interested in Nordic culture.
