Monthly Meetings

Join us at one of our monthly Lodge Meetings at Spiran Hall on the first Friday of most months. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm, or at 6:30 pm when a potluck dinner is scheduled. Activities meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second or third Wednesday of most months.

Meeting are held at Spiran Hall, located at the corner of Broadway and School Street in Rockport, Massachusetts. At our meetings, you will find an opportunity to socialize with fellow members of Nordic roots sharing common history and interests. Our activities include promotion and participation in Scandinavian festivals, celebrations, parades and other events.

A typical monthly meeting includes:

  • Socializing: Connect with fellow members and enjoy the camaraderie
  • Formal Proceedings: Includes a Call to Order, reports from the Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Officers, and the review and approval of new membership applications
  • Business Discussions: Focused on maintaining our historic Spiran Lodge building and items from the District Lodge
  • Event Planning: Discussions on our annual events such as the Pancake Breakfast, Fourth of July Parade, Midsommer, and Julfest, which enrich our community and raise funds for scholarships for local high school students
  • Cultural Enrichment: Presentations and discussions for the good of the order, recognition of member birthdays, and the singing of traditional Swedish songs
  • Open Forum: A call for any other business, encouraging members to share ideas and suggestions
  • Fellowship: Our meetings conclude with coffee, dessert, and more socializing, providing a relaxed setting to deepen connections.
